I make fun cake videos and I post my creations every Wednesday at 2:00pm CST. I have been a cake artist for a LONG LONG time now and I make all sorts of cakes! Huge dropdead gorgeous wedding cakes, crazy sculpted cakes, little cute painted cakes, cake pops, painted cookies, all types of cookies really! I love making oversized cookies, isomalt creations, even the earth! whatever you can dream up I can make it out of cake! I use cake, isomalt, sugar, candy, fondant, cookies, buttercream (American buttercream is my favorite) royal icing, sprinkles… I even have a special recipe that uses flax seed (eww gross) to make my crazy cake creations. In this video: Realistic gingerbread house for Christmas decorated by Sugar Artist, Shelby Bower from Shelby Elizabeth Cakes. Our gingerbread house is made from all gingerbread with no supports. We only use royal icing to glue the structure together. The outside of the house is painted with food coloring to replicate stone, vines and more! Piping is used to make realistic vine leaves and snow.

The snow is a combination of flour, coconut, and most importantly sugar which really made the snow look real. The windows were made from melted hard candies. Of course we need also to make a pretzel balcony with oak (chocolate bar) doors. We had a lot of fun, enjoy our work and MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

The FOOLPROOF Way, great for making figurines for your gingerbread display.https://youtu.be/8oZhbQC3aSITo see how and WHY you need to use modeling chocolate, click on my blog post here... https://mcgreevycakes.com/modelingchocolate/Ahhh!!  I've finally got it!  After over a year of trying a BAZILLION different techniques, I've finally figured out how to make modeling chocolate PERFECT, every time!  (A HUGE shout of to the fabulous Liz Marek, of Artisan Cake Company, who also has a channel here on YouTube that you REALLY need to check out, btw.)  I've basically just added a an extra step to the fabulous technique she uses, and voila!  Tiny little chunks in my chocolate are a thing of the past!  Yeeeeeehawwwww!  To color the modeling chocolate, you can add the gel color to the syrup before you mix it in if you want to color the whole batch, or just add your color after the modeling chocolate is completely set, like you would color fondant.

No cheating or reinforcements)This year they went for as tiny pieces as possible resulting in this tree made up of some 300 branches, each one as narrow as a match.
