Description: Because I removed the back wall so you could see the interior some structural work is there for the world to see. I had problems with getting the walls exactly perfect (a bit of warping and less than perfect 90 degree corners), I had to revise the roof pieces. Thankfully my husband has a bit of engineer in him and was able to help me! (I was in tears) This view shows the fireplace, that is almost invisible from most angles. It's made from mini-Kit-Kats and peanut butter crunch. The clock is a green Starlight mint, surrounded by modeling chocolate. The log is a miniature Tootsie Roll, and the flame is a butterscotch drop I crushed, melted, then added red with an edible marker. The stockings are fondant, as is the interior door. I made the trees and wreaths with royal frosting and learned a bit about piping with that! This is my second time making a gingerbread structure, my first time with a 'house', but I had a definite vision when I began in September. Cancer got in the way, as I've been going through chemo, which did not help as my hands shake a lot these days and my eyesight is affected, but I'm happy with the result.
