Description: For several years I've been making gingerbread houses at Christmastime, but my sons insisted I make a Haunted House this year for Halloween. This house has Peep ghosts, candy pumpkin jack-o-lanterns, and a potted plant made from gummy worms. The evergreen tree is made from an ice cream cone, frosting and purple candy corn. The walkway is made from jelly beans and edged in candy rocks. The windows are made from English tea cookies. The cemetary is made from Peperidge Farm Milano Cookies and brown sugar for the recently dug grave. The house is accented with bats and spiders from a cake decorating set. The tradition in our family is to have Demolition Day after the holiday. My sons - 11, 9 and 6 - will don safety eyewear and hammers and demolish it in within seconds. It's as much part of the tradition, as tasting the candy while decorating. I hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed making it!
